Trading PLC. The land, fertile and naturally blessed
with ideal soil and weather for growing beans and
other vegetables which will be coupled with a
high-tech drip irrigation system. This perfect
territory, which allows us to harvest twice a year,
this will be a unique feature of BNT industry and
trading PLC.
In the washing stations and
farms, the company produces fully washed, natural,
anaerobic and honey processes.
Most of the farms are located in an isolated rural area with high poverty and very limited governmental infrastructure. Because of this, our farm provides housing, potable water, and food subsidies to its work force. Two housing camps are located within company property, are directly under the responsibility of the farm. In all sites there is employment opportunity for permanent and occasional basis employees, and supports over 200households located on our land holdings. All workers are from the Oromia and SNNP region and most staffs are from the neighboring Kebele’s and woreda’s.
There were no pre-schools in the area so kids went without adequate education until they reached of ageto join the 1st grade. So BNT built, and fully maintains, three schools, The two are pre-schools who teach a total of 92 students and provided school supplies like student stationery
Additionally, we encourage small scale businesses to participate in the supply of materials as well as construction activities. And when we procure construction contracts at the farm, we require all suppliers to ensure they source a minimum local employment content.
As the rapid company expansion required larger logistics capability, the Kality distribution Center was foundedand started operations in 2016 G.C It serves to store, prepare and dispatch the production output of processed coffee and imported goods. Afterwards, BNT and Ranger /Sister Company distributes the products through acombined model of direct sales in Addis Ababa and a network of many agents for countrywide distribution.
Our high-tech dry mill and color sorter coffee process
machine revolutionizes the coffee processing industry.
It incorporates advanced technologies and innovative
features to enhance efficiency, quality, and precision
in the coffee processing workflow.
The dry
mill component of the machine that carter to different
stages of coffee processing including cleaning,
sorting, grading, and packing, while preserving the
integrity of the coffee beans. This process ensures
that only the highest quality beans are extracted for
further processing.
The dual color sorter
component employs sophisticated imaging technology and
artificial intelligence algorithms to meticulously
sort and separate coffee beans based on their color
and quality. It can detect and remove defective or
substandard beans, such as those with discoloration,
insect damage, or other imperfections. This ensures
that only the finest beans make it to the final
product, resulting in a superior cup of coffee for
consumers.
Overall, our high-tech dry mill
and color sorter coffee process machine streamlines
the coffee processing workflow, reduces waste, and
maximizes the quality of the final product. It
represents a significant advancement in coffee
processing technology, enabling our company to
maintain its position as a top exporter in Ethiopia
and deliver exceptional coffee to customers worldwide.
1. Coffee Bean Selections: Since BNT developed long-term
relationship with suppliers and pre-finance them before
harvesting time, they always prepare high-quality coffee
beans, preferably specialty grade beans with desirable
flavor profiles. The choice of coffee variety and origin
plays a significant role.
2. Harvesting: Most
of farmers spend the money for different holidays
specially for Ethiopian NewYear, hence they really hurry
to harvest both unripe and ripe cherries together just to
sell & make money for their immediate use. To avoid
such kinds of situations, BNT is paying incentive (second
payment) to farmers before harvest time, therefore they
will not be in rush to pick cherries so that ensure only
ripe coffee cherries are harvested. This requires careful
inspection and selective picking to avoid underripe or
overripe cherries.
3. Processing Methods:
Employ appropriate processing methods such as the wet
(washed) process or natural (dry) process. Each method
imparts distinct flavors, so choose one that complements
the desired flavor profile.
4. Sorting and
Depulping: We remove any defective or unripe cherries
during sorting. Depulping, which separates the
cherry's skin and pulp from the beans is done
carefully by our employees to prevent damage or
fermentation issues.
5. Fermentation: We do
control the duration and conditions of fermentation to
achieve the desired flavor characteristics without
introducing off-flavors or defects.
6. Washing
and Soaking: Thoroughly wash the beans after fermentation
to remove any remaining mucilage. And we do soaking the
beans in clean water also helps us to cleanliness and
flavor.
7. Drying: We dry the beans under
controlled conditions to maintain consistency and prevent
mold or moisture-related defects. Proper airflow,
temperature, and even drying are important.
8.
Storage: We store the dried coffee beans correctly to
maintain their quality. Protect them from moisture,
sunlight, and excessive exposure to oxygen.
9.
Quality Control: After we bring the coffees to our
warehouse from different washing stations, we implement
stringent quality control measures throughout the process.
Regular cupping, sensory evaluation, and adherence to
industry standards help us to identify and address any
issues.
10. Skilled Workforce: Our
well-trained and knowledgeable staffs who understand the
importance of each steps is also one of the main key to
produce those quality coffees.
